In 2021, I traveled to the New York Theater Workshop where I learned about the experimental theater of Martyna Majok. So, when Philadelphia Theatre Company presented Cost of Living for their 24/25 Season I was excited to the max to capture another life lesson from the playwright on the fringe of society that is meant to move the status quo. Experimental theatre by Martyna Majok shows characters with personality from people with identity issues and storytellers in real circumstances. The historical struggle with current challenges best relates to contemporary audiences in tone, rhythm, and form.

In 2023, The Last Parade, by Stephanie Satie presented a realist drama, a history of the Jewish Diaspora in reaction to the Ukrainian-Russian War. The Immigration system, the attraction of America, and emotional reaction to the state of being during war time was multiplying emotions on the Russian invasion into Ukraine. In the 24-25 Season InterAct Theater presented The Last Yiddish Speaker, the ancestral, or inherited spirit, of Jewish people living under oppressive circumstances. Chava is played by Satie, in the spirit of the play she leaves us with uncertainty. Was Chava a real character, or simply, a ghost? The suggestive figure of Chava was of one traveling like refugees in exile, and her shadow was like the traditions of Yiddish folklore internalized by future generations.

The Classic Theater of Dan Hodge after many years as the Co-Founder of Philadelphia Artist Collective. From 2016-2019, I have drawn from the genre of Classical Theater, and the work of Dan Hodge in Philadelphia was extraordinary.
