Taking a look into the arts & culture with visual reviews from the artists point of view, with sketches on the scene from the audience. To start, this process of designing from live performances took several years to develop a thorough line from the performance to the writting. And most importantly to believe in the work took careful selection when many hours go into the preliminary sketches, so the article on Sanctuary City from 2021, takes on the stand point of cultivating a real purpose in the arts. Following the genre of experimental theater at the Wilma Theater, and the FringeArts with presentations of political and sensitive direction in these plays. As well as, the Theater InterAct by their reaction with programs like, The Last Parade, or The Last Yiddish Speaker, they tell us the signs we should be looking for which are in effect today.
The Last Yiddish Speaker by Deborah Zoe Laufer
In 2023, The Last Parade, by Stephanie Satie presented a realist drama, a history of the Jewish Diaspora in reaction to the Ukrainian-Russian War. The Immigration system, the attraction of America, and emotional reaction to the state of being during war time was multiplying emotions on the Russian invasion into Ukraine. In the 24-25 Season InterAct Theater presented The Last Yiddish Speaker, the ancestral, or inherited spirit, of Jewish people living under oppressive circumstances. Chava is played by Satie, in the spirit of the play she leaves us with uncertainty. Was Chava a real character, or simply, a ghost? The suggestive figure of Chava was of one traveling like refugees in exile, and her shadow was like the traditions of Yiddish folklore internalized by future generations.
